Variphy is announcing that effective July 31, 2020, Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 (aka “IE 11”) will no longer be a supported web browser for its products and services.
If you are still actively using IE 11 for Variphy, we recommend you switch to a supported browser as soon as possible.
Variphy supported web browsers as of July 31, 2020:
- Google Chrome
- Mozilla Firefox
- Apple Safari
- Microsoft Edge
If you are required to or prefer to use a Microsoft web browser, Microsoft Edge is and will continue to be officially supported. Microsoft recent announced that the new Microsoft Edge, based on Chromium, is ready for general availability.
What This Means
After July 31, 2020, functionality in Variphy’s products or services may not work or appear correctly in IE 11. Furthermore, no defects, bugs or cosmetic issues will be fixed for IE 11.
Why Variphy Is No Longer Supporting IE 11
Because only a very small minority of Variphy users still actively use IE 11 for our products, we are ceasing IE 11 support in order to focus on the most popular, secure, and contemporary browsers among our user base, such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge.
By doing so, we feel we will be even better positioned to deliver products and functionality that meets or even exceeds the needs of our customers.
To date, supporting IE 11 has required considerable additional development and quality assurance efforts and resources to identify and fix issues which are only present in IE 11, not to mention impeding some technology decisions.
Does This Affect You?
This does affect you if you and/or any other users in your organization do use IE 11 for Variphy.
If neither you nor any other users in your organization use IE 11 for Variphy, then this does not affect you.
What you should do if you’re affected:
Any user who uses IE 11 to access Variphy should switch to a supported web browser when accessing Variphy.
